The Property Industry Foundation (PIF) held its 4th Corporate Charity Cycling day in Victoria on Friday 18 November, 2016, raising $64,000 to support programs for youth homelessness with Secure Parking being the event sponsor.
Pro-cyclist Koen de Kort – lead out rider for the Giant-Alpecin Team, Bridie O’Donnell – Women’s Hour Record Holder and Michael Drapac – part Owner Drapac/Cannondale Pro Team and Property Developer, alongside more than 120 property and construction industry professionals, united on the day at RACV, Goldfields Resort in Creswick.
With ride options ranging from 57 kilometres to the most challenging 104 kilometres, included a timed Queen and King of the Mountain. Cyclists individually fundraised for the event and sought donations from their friends, family and colleagues.
All money raised will help fund the PIF commitment to Open Family Australia Chatterbox Bus Program which offers outreach services to disadvantaged young people throughout the Melbourne CBD. The Chatterbox Bus provides a link between youth on the streets and the services they need as well as providing aid in food, clothing and health supplies. On average, around 700 young people access this service each month.
