Parramatta Council Energy Efficient Car Parks

Parramatta City Council has recently completed energy saving upgrades to four of their CBD multi-level car parks. The upgrades included the installation of new lighting systems with sensors, timers and more efficient LED light globes, as well as technologies for power factor correction and voltage reduction.

These works have resulted in reductions of 28% to 46%, saving up to $20,000 per year per car park on electricity costs. Funding of the upgrades has been provided by the Federal Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the NSW Government’s Waste and Sustainability Payment.

The upgrades have been made at the following Parramatta Council Car Parks:

City Centre Car Park - Horwood Place

Eat Street Car Park - Erby Place

Parramatta Station Car Park - 15-17 Wentworth Street

Justice Precinct Car Park  - Hunter Street
