Sydney CBD Road Closures

Secure Parking Car Parks Open for Business as Usual

Work on the Light rail continues into 2017. Secure Parking car parks continue to open as normal. Entry to some car parks may change due to the CBD light rail works. Information on these changes will be published on the car park information pages.

However, we do advise that you book ahead via Secure-a-Spot where possible due to the increased demand for CBD spaces, caused by the loss of much of the CBD street parking bays.

  • From 27 December 2016 a large worksite will progressively be installed in the middle of the southern approach to the SHB, with a fixed lane configuration temporarily introduced. This means that additional city bound lanes will not be provided in the AM peak over the quieter January period.
  • From 16 January, the worksite compound will be reduced and normal AM peak traffic arrangements will be reinstated.

Wynyard Station – York Street entrance closure – From 2 January 2017

From 2 January 2017, station access on York Street will be temporarily closed so that the York Street lobby can be refurbished and the escalators upgraded.

Signs will be in place to direct customers and extra staff will be on hand at key times to provide assistance.

The upgraded York Street escalators and lobby are expected to reopen from late 2017.
