Parking Industry Shifts Gears with new premium services
The country’s largest Australian owned car park operator, Secure Parking, has launched a pilot program which is set to transform the retail parking sector.
The company has introduced myValet, a new program offering customers a suite of services designed to make parking more convenient and integrated into their shopping experience.
myValet will launch first as a pilot program at the premium QueensPlaza car park in the Brisbane, CBD, and pending its success, will be rolled out to a number of selected Secure Parking car parks nationally, over the next year.
For a $6 fee, customers will be able to leave their vehicle with a trained, suited driver in the myValet section of the car park.
In the coming weeks myValet will be expanded to offer a concierge service which encourages shoppers to drop off their bags in between shopping. Personal attendants will then pack shopping bags into the customer’s car so it can be driven straight out of the door when they return.
A notification system is also being implemented which will allow myValet customers to reply to an automated text message on their way back to the car park. When they return to the car park their vehicle will be ready with their bags inside, along with a complimentary bottle of water.
Secure Parking Group General Manager David Knight said the company’s investment in technology was transforming the way it does business.
“We are moving away from a traditional ticket based parking model to a new era where customers won’t even need to wind down their windows when they drive into a car park.
“Tens of thousands of our customers now opt to guarantee their parking space and save up to 40% on standard parking rates by pre-booking through our Secure-a-Spot website and GoSecure mobile app.
“These online applications will integrate seamlessly with custom built software which allows our myValet team to manage all bookings on iPads.
“myValet customers who book online will be given a pin-code to enter and exit the carpark and will not require a ticket at any stage during the parking process,” he said.
David added that myValet would help shopping centres to capture new customers and support retailers.
“As online shopping has grown in popularity, bricks and mortar retailers have come under increasing pressure to find new ways to attract shoppers.
“With myValet in place, these shopping centres can now offer their retailers a truly unique parking service that enhances the shopping experience for their customers
“Through our Secure-a-Spot VIP area, retailers will be able to book the myValet service for their customers,” he concluded.
myValet customers will have the added piece of mind knowing their vehicle is in safe hands. All myValet drivers have undergone specialist training and will be easily distinguishable in blue waistcoats and bow ties.
