Melbourne Parking Tax Grab

The announcement in the State Budget of a parking tax increase will hit average Melbournians hardest as the levy is passed on to cheap parking options such as early bird, evening and weekend rates – all popular options with office workers and day trippers to the City.

Under the plan the parking levy will increase from $930 to $1,300 per space per year. Anticipated revenue generated by the parking tax will increase from $45 to $90 million.
