Sydney CBD Road Closures 2017

Secure Parking Car Parks Open for Business as Usual

Work on the Light rail continues into 2017. Secure Parking car parks continue to open as normal. Entry to some car parks may change due to the CBD light rail works. Information on these changes will be published on the car park information pages.

However, we do advise that you book ahead via Secure-a-Spot where possible due to the increased demand for CBD spaces, caused by the loss of much of the CBD street parking bays.

Important things to know

Additonal construction work is planned in the CBD as traffic volumes reduce during January 2017.

Key activities include light rail construction work at the Bridge/Grosvenor Street Intersection and further road closures in George Street between Grosvenor and Alfred Streets.

Night work from Monday 6 February to Sat 2 March 8pm to 5am (Sunday to Thursday only)

Although this work will not affect entry or exit to our car parks, we would like to advise customers that George Street, between Bathurst and Goulburn Streets will be closed to all access including footpaths on the above dates and times.

George Street, between Grosvenor Street and Alfred Street work – 16 January to April 2017

From 5am 16 January to approximately April 2017:

  • There will be no northbound general traffic access on George Street between Grosvenor and Alfred Streets. Access to Four Seasons and Blue Anchor Lane will be via Alfred Street for the first stage.
  • Access to the Rocks will be via Loftus and Alfred Streets, or via Harrington Street, Argyle Street, Dalgety Street, Towns Place and Hickson Road.

Here is a map highlighting the preferred access routes for The Rocks precinct:
