Secure Parking has been getting behind the Property Industry Fund (PIF) as a sponsor of the Corporate Charity Cycling Day and supporter of the StreetSLEEP.
On a beautiful spring day in the Mornington Peninsula, 180 riders from the property industry joined current Tour de France cyclist Koen de Kort and Secure Parking’s Scott Rush for the Tour de PIF. The event sold out in under a week and raised in excess of $100,000 to support at-risk and homeless young people.
Over 194 young property industry leaders took part in the event across Australia to experience what it’s like to sleep rough with just a piece of card board between them and the hard concrete floor – all in the name of raising money and awareness for at risk and homeless young people. The sleep outs have raised over $151,721 nationally.
Secure Parking hosted the Melbourne StreetSLEEP at Merritts Place for the 2nd year in a row.
The event enabled the opportunity for networking with industry peers, but more importantly allows sleepers to hear from the foundation’s charity partners about the wonderful work they are doing at the coalface of youth homelessness.
Scott commented “In our industry, we see the impact of youth homelessness first hand, and we are all fortunate to have PIF working to address this problem and change people’s lives for the better.”
PIF partners with its charity beneficiaries and the property industry to build homes to reduce youth homelessness. Over the last six years they have invested $12.6 million into vital programs, helping their charity partners to rebuild young lives.
