Following the very encouraging signs that the coronavirus curve is flattening, lock down restrictions have been eased in Queensland, from 2 May 2020.

Mother's Day Picnic in Brisbane City
Brisbane City is an obvious choice for a Mother’s Day picnic, and with good reason! There’s heaps of cheap parking and plenty of space to keep your social distance. Take a picnic rug and cushions or camp chairs and head to one of these park or riverside locations.
South Bank Parklands
At South Bank spread your picnic rug and spoil Mum in the numerous picnic spots. There are plenty of grassy lawns and shady trees, themed gardens and waterside spots, plus room to play and explore.
Howard Smith Wharves
The Howard Smith Wharves, is located beneath Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge. Recently rejuvenated this is worth a visit to see the results which are amazing! The Wharves has parklands and public open spaces that are ideal for picnicking, plus a convenient lift to the top of the cliffs for spectacular views and Instagram worthy pics.
City Botanic Gardens
Brisbane City Botanical Gardens provide an urban oasis which is a pleasure to visit. Kids have the space to kick a ball while Mum has the opportunity to relax and enjoy the view. If you like, take a tour of the gardens and look out for the wildlife or learn about the many native plants.
Roma Street Parklands
Roma Street Parkland is a place to relax and play open everyday. Children can bring along their bikes or scooters because so that the family can explore. The area boasts expansive lawned areas, water features and themed gardens for all to enjoy.
Musgrave Park - West End
Kangaroo Point Cliffs
Kangaroo Point offers visitors the chance to picnic at the top of the cliffs, when you need the breeze on a warm day, whilst enjoying the stunning views. Alternatively you can head to the bottom of the cliffs for riverside spots and dinning. Parking at Kangaroo Point itself is limited so we do encourage you to either take a leisurely 2km stroll along the river to the foot of the cliffs or use the CityCat.
